A few days back I discussed the idea of your Unique Selling Proposition and the “Four Questions Your USP (Unique Selling Proposition) Can and Should Answer”
- Why should I listen to you?
- Why should I do business with you instead of anybody and everybody else?
- What can your product do for me that no other product can do?
- What can you guarantee me that nobody else can guarantee?
Today, as I continue my analysis of “80/20 Sales and Marketing” by Perry Marshall, I was enlightened once again with this question:
What’s your natural USP?Β Β This would be the inherent groove based on your passion, personality, and experiences that you carry with you at all times.Β “Most people are only vaguely aware of their natural, personal USP.Β I think one of the biggest wormholes that people get sucked into is, they get so enamored with the romantic version of what somebody else does, the greener pastures, that they ignore the unromantic, plain, everyday genius that they themselves possess.”Β (Marshall, p. 67)
THOUGHTS TO PONDER TODAY:Β This message is a great follow-up to yesterday’s message; “Are you the Fish or are you the Voyeur?” How often do you find yourself enamored with the actions, and successes of others?Β How often do you try and replicate, duplicate what other people seem to be doing?Β When is the last time you recognized your unique, distinguishing traits that make you YOU?Β People will follow the person who is authentic to their “SELF”.Β Our world and your business need REAL people!Β What is your unique, natural selling proposition?Β Lastly, I leave you with this quote from this phenomenal book, “80/20 Sales and Marketing.”Β Β
Don’t fall in love with bright shiny objects.Β Fall in love with mastery.
