Constant Change & Change Is Constant

It has been said, “the only constant in life is change.”  And today I felt that as the Company I represent went through another major restructure at the Executive Level, the third of this kind in the past 12 years.   As always, my daily experiences are always related back to my Business and then shared with you for your insight and interpretation.

Insurance as an Industry is not exempt from change in fact we are forced to change sometimes at record breaking paces.  As human beings we can strive to seek the answers in the change, confused, lost, frustrated…ALL OF WHICH limit productivity and expansion.  Or we can accept that in order to move forward there must be change, it does not mean it is not difficult or emotional at times.  Yet, think about it rationally and with common sense, if you wake up today and you do nothing differently are you expanding or moving forward?  Of course the answer is NO.  You and I as human beings must change, we must change our eating habits as we age, we must change our fitness habits, we must change our relationships, we must change our priorities, everything MUST CHANGE OR NOTHING CHANGES.

As an Insurance Professional you must understand this concept in that the Products you sell only meet the needs for the client the day you sell it.  If their lives are changing (which we have determined is constant) then your clients needs will change throughout their lifetimes. Herein lies the JOB SECURITY of Insurance Professionals!  If you are a beacon of light in the storms of life changes for your clients, YOU WILL ALWAYS HAVE VALUE.  Don’t shy away from facing change and asking the questions of your clients to face their life changes.  You are called if you are in this Industry to prepare for change, protect for change and foresee change sometimes before your clients can visualize it happening.

THOUGHTS TO PONDER TODAY:  You did not insure your client today for the event that will happen today, but rather you protected for the inevitable changes that will occur and cause tragedy or loss to them.  If you believe you are a beacon of light for your clients, how are you addressing their ongoing changes?  Do you have regularly scheduled reviews with ALL your clients?  Do you keep informed about information in the world that is valuable and share it with your clients?  Do you utilize your own Life changes as the stories that prepare and inspire your clients for their  CONSTANT CHANGE.  Accept change as reality and life becomes a bit easier, PREPARE YOUR CLIENTS FOR CHANGE AND YOUR BUSINESS BECOMES A BIT EASIER!!
