Today’s message will start with a quote: “The greater danger for most of us lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low, and achieving our mark.” (Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simone)

As I reflected on my message to you this Monday morning I took this quote from a podcast I was listening to on the way to the office today. And it resonated with me at the core of who I am. How often in my own life I have achieved my targets and still felt unfulfilled? How many times have I met the mark and felt empty? It was not in achieving the target or goal but in not stretching myself to higher levels of aspiration that I continued to be unsatisfied, unfulfilled and incomplete!

As you think about your Agency/Business where is it that you are achieving your targets and/or goals but you are realizing it is because you have set them too low? What could be possible for you and your Agency if you set your targets HIGH and ran the risk of falling short? Would falling short on an audacious goal be more fulfilling then hitting a goal of miniscule capacity? The answer I believe is 100% YES!

What targets are you aiming for today, this week, this month, this year and are those targets going to cause you to have to become something different than who you are today? Unless you are not challenged to become someone different in the targets you are striving for, you will never become someone different. You will continue to feel unsatisfied, unfulfilled and limited!

THOUGHTS TO PONDER TODAY: What one singular change could you make in your targets today? When you feel fear and unknowing in your targets that is your first sign that you are on the right path! Think about the last target you achieved, did you become someone different in it’s accomplishment? If the answer is NO, then you can understand the message today: “The greater danger for most of us lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low, and achieving our mark.” (Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simone)
