Happy Monday to my blog readers. I wanted to start this week out with a concept around the DREADED MEETING AND/OR CONFERENCE!
I am in my office working right now knowing that I am about to leave for a four-day Insurance meeting and conference. I am sure that many of you can relate to these types of conferences and/or meetings. So much work in our Business to get done, how can I afford to be out of the office for 4 days?
I have felt this way before and heck, I am feeling that way today! Yet, I am choosing to look at all of this from another perspective:
CONSTANT LEARNING….CONSTANT CONNECTION…..CONTINUED NETWORKING…..KNOWLEDGE IS POWER….POWER LEADS TO GROWTH
Our Insurance Industry is in constant flux, inevitable change, market constriction, consumer demands and rapid technological advances. How am I as an Insurance Professional suppose to have a handle on all of this? The answer is learning, networking, connecting with peers and expanding my knowledge……AND Industry meetings and conferences are the perfect place to take advantage of all of these!
Business mirrors Life….our reflection of any situation and the response to how we see that situation leads us down two paths: Path #1 Situations lead to Growth and Opportunity or Path #2 Situations slow us down and take up time. All of us in Life have been guilty of looking at situations on both Paths, yet ultimately it is our Internal dialogue on how we approach a situation that leads to the outcome for us!
THOUGHTS TO PONDER TODAY: If you went into every meeting/conference with the mindset that the goal is: Learning, Connection, Networking, Knowledge and Power, could you leave that situation with Positivity? A meeting/conference does take time and can seem like a burden, yet if you skip it or are not engaged, your peers and/or competition that participate and engage have just become better than you! Our Industry demands knowledge and real-time expertise, if you are not willing to engage in Industry meetings and conferences where will you gain that knowledge and expertise? Just like I am experiencing today, the mindset I take into any situation will dictate the results I gain from that experience, why not enter with a mindset of power and growth? The mindset I select determines the outcome I gain!
