Insurance Agency Vs. Insurance Carrier…The Relationship!

These last few days have led me on a journey of introspection and perplexion and have brought me to a place of clarity that I wanted to share today.   I truly believe if you take light into this content today you will realize,  “You are not a Victim, You are a Victor.”

As my largest audience is comprised of Insurance professionals, the focus of my content is always geared in this direction, yet my message will apply to any and all individuals that are involved in business.

As an Insurance professional it can become very easy to “BLAME” your Company or Carriers for always moving the carrot, moving the target, increasing the goals etc.  Do you ever feel that way….BE HONEST.  I can be honest and YES I have even felt that way and the reality is that it is TRUE.   It took some deep introspection to see this reality but even more importantly to understand it.  Our world is an ever changing, nonstop competitive environment with so many moving parts, market conditions, technology changes, industry changes, financial and economic changes to name just a few.  And yet, we all have an intrinsic WANT to stay comfortable and stay the same.

Large Companies and Carriers understand that they cannot do this or they risk extinction.  Would you rather your Company/Carriers adjust, modify, maneuver to expand or STAY COMFORTABLE and cease to exist?  Look at your operation today, how small or large it is and with all the conditions that impact you everyday, consider the day to day decisions you have to make to keep your family and the families of those you employ provided for.  Do you think that your teams (or if you are part of a team) understand why you are making the decisions you are forced to make everyday?

I share that what I have experienced recently is that my business, my job is to Recruit, Train and Coach Insurance Agencies to find higher levels of success and to market and sell Insurance products.  None of that matters if the Carriers we represent cease to exist because of their failure to adapt and change.  I applaud my Company/Carrier in making tough decisions to thrive in today’s competitive marketplace and I have a CHOICE….Be A Victim or BE A VICTOR.  I choose the latter.

THOUGHTS TO PONDER TODAY:  Are you playing the victim?  Rates are too high, underwriting is to difficult, compensation is out of line, bonuses are out of reach, my Company/Carrier doesn’t care for me.  How is this mindset serving you?  Or are you a VICTOR, and you understand that tough decisions have to be made for everyone to have an opportunity to win?  Do you understand that if you adapt and adjust that TRULY  you and your Company/Carrier have the same goal….Growth, Purpose and REMAINING SIGNIFICANT.  Today, what choice do you make:  VICTIM or VICTOR?  If you are an Insurance Professional PONDER THIS QUESTION:

If I am successful in my Insurance Agency, I am growing premium, maintaining profits, increasing marketshare and increasing Personal Income, is that a benefit to my Carrier/Company?  There is not a Carrier/Company that does not want its Salesforce to thrive and grow and they make their decisions around that everyday with a vision for a future you may not see yet.  REMEMBER THAT AND DECIDE TODAY….VICTIM OR VICTOR?
