September is the Life Insurance Awareness Month and today I am going to take you on a journey, a story, an emotional ride and I just ask for you to read, ponder and DON’T LET THE MESSAGE PASS YOU BY.
Think about your morning today all the things you had to do just to get the day started. Did you kiss your kids goodbye and tell them that you love them? Did you kiss your husband/wife and tell them you love them? Or was today the day you took them for granted and you forget to say those three words, “I Love You?”
Life is a moment, a blink of an eye, an instant before it passes and we all have one thing in common; our life has a beginning and an end. The awareness that I challenge you all to have is that THE END IS UNKNOWN. With 100% certainty I can say that today is the end for someone! My hope for you is that it is not yours, your loved ones, your friend, your family or someone important to your life.
As sad as this is to think about, what makes me sad is being the one left behind after that lose. As a husband I realize that there will be sometime in my life when one of us wakes up without the other there, as a father I realize there will be a time that one of us is not there to kiss each other, hug each other, or simply say I Love You. I challenge you to CLOSE YOUR EYES and imagine what that feels like, what that looks like and how in an instant YOUR PRIORITIES IN LIFE CHANGE.
Life Insurance Awareness is not about selling a product for me, it is about TRUE AWARENESS in the unknown, not the unknown that we will all DIE but that we don’t get to know the time, that is UNKNOWN. All I can do and that I can share with everyone I touch is DON’T BE BLIND, be aware, prepare and feel that pain now SO YOU CAN MAKE CHOICES NOW that prepare you and your loved ones the best way to deal with the REAL PAIN WHEN THE UNKNOWN “BECOMES KNOWN”
I can never prepare myself emotionally and I don’t know that any of us can in these MOMENTS OF LIFE. All I can control is putting myself and my family in a position to mourn peacefully, adjust to the new priority of life after the loss, have the ability to hug and be hugged in that time of loss without fear of MONEY. I assure you that in that moment of loss, my job, my stuff will not matter to me and those that I love and have next to me.
THOUGHTS TO PONDER TODAY: Awareness does not mean weakness, awareness leads to enlightenment. Have you ever painted this picture for your life, if this is your first time, how are you feeling? If you are in the industry, your JOB IS TO BE AN AWARENESS MAKER FOR YOUR CLIENTS. Who will you make aware today? Did you tell your loved ones what they mean to you today? It is not too late, tell them you love them, hold them a bit closer, set your priorities and plans in the right direction.
