Quarterly Planning: The Key To Agency Success

As I sit here today writing this message, we are 7 days in to the 3rd Quarter of 2021!  Wow, where has the time gone and how quickly we are embarking on the 2nd half of 2021.  I also share that I spent this Monday after the holiday mapping out my 3rd Quarter targets.  An exercise that I believe in so religiously and felt called to share with everyone today as a Blueprint and concept that can and should be a Game Changer for your Agency operations.

I want to map out for you a easy (not simple) process of planning for your Agency and actually give you an example of how you take the seemingly “Impossible” and make it “Possible” by design in your planning sequence.

Map out your year in this metrics and you will find the highest possibility and probability for success.

  •  Set 12 month/Annual “Impossible” targets, those which will drastically change the dynamic of your operations and yet you can’t visibly and/or conceptually fathom how you can get there.  Ex. $1,000,000 in New Business premium (when your best year ever is $300k)
    • For a target to be meaningful and valuable IT MUST make you uncomfortable!  None of us will ever grow from a place of comfort.  Think this way when you approach your Annual “Impossible” targets
  • Take that 12 month/Annual “Impossible” target and break it down into 4 “Possible” outcomes.  
    • Using the example above you would take that $1,000,00 Premium target and break that down to Four (4) outcomes of $250k each.  These become your Quarterly outcomes
  • Now that you have Quarterly outcomes/expectations you make it become even more possible and break it down by thirds.  These will become your Monthly expectations.
    • Where you once thought $1,000,000 in 12 month/annual premium was “Impossible” you are now seeing that actually means only $83,333 in premium per month
  • And finally where all of this becomes LASER FOCUSED and actually possible is where you direct your efforts weekly to the reality of making the “IMPOSSIBLE” possible for YOU!
    • This becomes your Weekly One Door you need to open to fulfill the overall targets you set for yourself. Taking that monthly expectations to your Weekly One Door to open. In this example it is $83,333/4…or only $20,834 per week!

You can do this with any TARGETS you set for yourself using this simple (not easy), it will require commitment and work.  Yet, what was once “IMPOSSIBLE” becomes POSSIBLE using this process!
