The Business Of Risk Protection.. Yet Is Your Business Too Protected From Risk

If you are currently reading this message, you are probably in some way tied to the Insurance Business “The Business of Risk Protection” either as a Agency Owner or as an Agency Support Personnel.  Yet, let me repeat you are in “The Business of Risk Protection” not “Risk Prevention.”

Two distinct differences but stay with me here and there is a deep meaning to the message I want to give you today.

I do not believe in Risk Prevention, too many outside factors in the World that Risk can be 100% prevented.  Yet, today as I thought about myself (where I always start) it led me to see the similarities to others in my same field of Insurance.

How often we serve our clients/customers to the best of our ability in “Risk Protection” we don’t try and serve them in “Risk Prevention.”  We don’t tell them, “don’t drive your Automobile and that is the best Insurance, don’t invite anyone to your Home so you can avoid the risk of an accidental trip or fall.  NO, we do our best to set up a comprehensive Risk Protection plan because we know risks will occur.

Now, here is the message you need to hear today.  I see in myself this happening from time to time.  I can coach, develop, train and recruit Insurance Agencies to provide valuable, in-depth Risk Protection for clients and customers.  I have accepted that Risk is part of life and in fact because of that is the reason that my business exists.  Yet, when I look at the levels of success in my Insurance coaching business I do everything possible to AVOID RISK, PREVENT RISK instead of building a Risk Protection Plan.  And then I question why I am stuck at an average level of success. It is only at those times I take a look at RISK directly in the face and still move forward that I see myself moving forward and upward.  

It is in acceptance that RISK exists that you can find the ability to take those RISKS with a “PROTECTION PLAN” and move forward and upward to new levels.

THOUGHTS TO PONDER TODAY: In your Insurance Agency have you stopped taking risks and because of that you are stagnant?  If you educate, market and sell RISK PROTECTION, which means you accepted it, WHY are you not accepting the RISKS in your own Insurance Business and building a “Protection Plan.”  How can you build a “Risk Protection Plan” to move forward, here are some tips:  

  1. Develop a measurable action plan for your targets
  2. Develop a team to help you expand and measure to the expected return you are seeking from them
  3. Invest in growth, marketing and team members with a plan on what you expect
  4. Reach out to a Professional in your Industry for support and coaching to see the RISKS you may be blind to “how to see” and thus be prepared.

I LEAVE YOU WITH A PHRASE YOU HAVE PROBABLY HEARD BEFORE THAT APPLIES TO HOW YOU SEE “RISK”, AND WHEN YOU ACCEPT THIS YOU ARE FREE TO MOVE FORWARD.  NOT BLINDLY BUT PREPARED AND WITH A “RISK PROTECTION PLAN”
