The Goal Of Your Insurance Agency is GROWTH!

Happy Monday and hope that you are all doing very well.

Today as I returned from vacation and have those “get back to work blues”, I thought about my business and each of your Insurance Agencies.

Quite often in my experience of Coaching Insurance Agencies I find that many if not all Insurance Agencies fail to have a Business Plan!  It always leaves me wondering WHY?  I think quite simply most Insurance Agents don’t look at their Agency as a business but rather they look at themselves as “Insurance Agents”.

I want to leave you with a simple, clear, concise concept that applies to your Insurance Agency as well as any Business….YOUR PLAN STARTS AND ENDS WITH ONE SIMPLE (I DID NOT SAY EASY) TARGET……GROWTH!

The goal of any successful Business and your Insurance Agency is no different, is constant, continual GROWTH.  And I will make it even easier for you to understand, GROWTH IN PREMIUM.

As you start your week and probably are starting to evaluate how your 2018 will end and where you want your 2019 to go, I ask you to work on one simple concept that is the starting point of any Business Plan, WHERE ARE YOU CURRENTLY AT?  How many clients do you have, how many policies in force do you have and MOST IMPORTANTLY how much premium do you manage?  Knowing where you are at, with honesty, truth and matter of factness is the starting point of any plan.  Write it down, post it, and put it somewhere you see it every day.  Next, WHERE DO YOU WANT TO GO?  How many clients to you want to have, how many policies in force do you want to have and HOW MUCH PREMIUM DO YOU WANT TO MANAGE?

A measure of your Business/Agency success is, “ARE YOU GROWING”?  I assure you if you are not growing, YOU ARE NOT MAINTAINING,  YOU ARE DYING!  Costs are ever increasing and so maintaining is not stability, it is retraction.

THOUGHTS TO PONDER TODAY:  This is the time of year that Insurance Agencies and Business make plans to finish the year and what 2019 targets will be.  I am working with my Agencies during this time to help evaluate, where they are and where they want to go with a focus on GROWTH as the paramount target.  Have you made time to start developing your plans for end of 2018 and what you want for 2019?  Do you know where you are right now, free of judgement, free of emotion JUST THE FACTS?  Is your Agency focused on GROWTH and if not DON’T YOU THINK IT SHOULD BE?  If you need help with developing a TRUE Business Plan, do you know where to turn?  Are you running a business or is your Business running you?
