“Industry Conferences….WASTE OF TIME OR VALUE?”
I am living it right now and I can tell you IT IS VALUE! I came in with a mindset of positivity and with a thirst to gain knowledge….and within the first 15 minutes I had a concept that will change my LEADERSHIP skills immediately.
A concept taken from the great Leadership development utilized with Boy Scouts, called:
E.D.G.E
E=Educate Your People
D=Demonstrate for Your People
G=Guide Your People
E=Encourage People
Have you ever wondered how to get your teams to next level performance? It has and always will depend on the STRENGTH OF THE LEADER DETERMINES THE STRENGTH OF THE PACK! I found in learning this concept that I am sometimes good on one or two points of the E.D.G.E concept without even knowing what it was….BUT TO BECOME EXCEPTIONAL I MUST UTILIZE ALL FOUR!
THOUGHTS TO PONDER: When is the last time you demonstrated the skill you expect from your team? When is the last time you encouraged someone on your team? Do you guide by word or by example? And which of those two methods do you think holds the most value (ANSWER IS EXAMPLE)? Do you consistently hold team meetings that are consistent, focused and results oriented and could you make E.D.G.E a priority in each of those CONSISTENT meetings? Learn the E.D.G.E and gain the EDGE in your Agency and Business!!!!
