Waves..Cold Water…And Building Your Business

Today as I sit here at the ocean with my family on vacation and watching all the people in the water it made me think of something as it relates to business and specifically your Insurance Business.  I watch as hundreds of kids run and jump into the water, no fear, no doubt in their mind, no questions about the coldness of the water or the size of the waves.  The kids just smile, run and jump in the water.

Yet on the other token I watched as adults, parents, mothers, fathers slowly tiptoe into the water checking the temperature, slowly getting their bodies adapted to the cold afraid to get into the waves.  Some overcome that fear and just dive in.

It makes me think about the rise and falls of waves of your Insurance Business. Once upon a time and for many of you it may be that way right now, you are that child that runs into the ocean, jumps into the water has no fears, no doubts and you go out and have a great time and enjoy the waves.  Yet, for many of us we have gotten timid, we become afraid of the water, afraid of the waves, afraid to take the chances.  It was a direct reflection that constant success means facing the fears, having fun enjoying the waves of life and jumping into the cold water!

THOUGHTS TO PONDER FOR TODAY:  Are you the child at the beach that jumps into the water, no fears not afraid of the cold, not afraid of the waves?  Or are you like most adults slowly testing the waters, slowly adapting to the waves, slowly adjusting? I ask you today to think about that as it relates to your Insurance Business.  Have you stopped jumping in, stopped having fun, stopped riding the waves of life and enjoying yourself in the journey? Have you become more of the person who timidly tests the waters, slowly adjusting coming up to your waist level and calling that okay? And finally what could it mean for your business if you went back to the days when you jumped into the water head first?   Enjoyed the cold, the unknown, and rode the waves and saw where they took you?
